New shag lessons begin Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008
Morganton Elks Lodge
Beginners I---6:30-7:30--come early to register and pay
Beginners II---7:45-8:45
Cost $20
Open dancing 8:45-9:30
 
Intermediate lessons will be taught March 27 and April 3.  These will be 2 hour sessions each-- Cost $20

     DJ Gene Hensley  7:30-11pm
     **Wine tasting prior to party
          6-7pm, $5 charge to participate.  Charge includes
               a wine glass from the Lake James Cellars. We'll have
               cheeses and a chocolate fountain with the tasting.
         *Club's portion of Half & Half drawing will be donated
          to The Phil Sawyer Scholarship Fund.

Nominations will be submitted to the Board on March 27 and may also be taken from the floor on May 1. Voting will be by ballot.



Honorary Life Time Membership Nominations
Nominations must be submitted to the Board.  Those members nominated will be considered in the order in which they are received.  Upon approval by two-thirds of its members present, the Board will place the names before the general membership for vote.  This year ONLY---two people will be selected.  Please consider the following when making your nomination:
                -number of years of membership
                -amount of activity and involvement in supporting the club
                -personal support and guidance to the club
                -outstanding contributions to the club and to the promotion/preservation of the shag dance and its music.
The deadline for nominations will be April 1, 2008.
Honorary memberships will be awarded at our Re-Up Party Saturday, May 17.
