John Carpenter- President

I was born in PA where there wasn’t a whole lotta shaggin going on. I met this pretty girl Robin Morley and I am now a shaggin fool. I have three children, Maxton, Amber, and Jt, and my cat TJ. I coached wrestling for 12 years and love to play harmonica.

Libby Burns-Vice President

Thanks to SBSC.....I have been a member for about 10 years now and I've loved every minute of it.  I have two beautiful children and five wonderful grandchildren that I dearly love and I am a very dedicated to my family.  I also have a family with some of the best people I know....SBSC members and they have my dedication and my love too.  My life would not be complete without them.  Thank you, Robin Morley, for all your hard work and dedication to making this club the "Best and most friendly club around." 

As your newly elected Vice President I hope to make you proud.  If ever there is anything that you need to talk about and changes we need to make, I hope you will feel comfortable coming to me and discussing whatever is on your mind.  We're always open to suggestions and changes.  It takes all of us working together to make our club what we know it can be.

I live in Morganton, NC and have been an active member of SBSC since the ‘90’s. I have watched our club grow over the years and am greatly enthused by all the wonderful, fun, and friendly members we have. It is my pleasure to serve as the club’s secretary and to keep SBSC members and shagging friends up-to-date about our club through our monthly newsletter.

Denny & Marie Young- Co-Treasurers

We will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this year (June). Our daughter received an AA from Western Piedmont and hopes to graduate from ASU in a year (or two?!). We've always enjoyed dancing (even though we shag 'our way'). We are retired teachers (32/33 years) but still do some substitute teaching. We have been members of the Sandy Beach Shag Club since the early 1990's.

I live in Morganton, NC and have been a member of SBSC for 3-4 years now. It’s an honor and a pleasure to serve as Chairman of the Board for our club.  I have many hobbies, but my favorite by far is dancing.  Each time I step on the dance floor I may learn something new, meet a new friend or just be taken away by the moment.  I would like to thank each and everyone that has been a part of this time.   

Sanford Clark-Member At Large

I live in Morganton. I have been a SBSC member for about 3 years. I enjoy the club and shagging music. I can’t shag, but love to dance. I have two sons, one in Atlanta and the other in Savannah. I have one grandson. I spent 4 years active duty in the Marines, and two additional years inactive duty in the USMC Reserve. I used to live in Kokomo, IN. Keep on shagging.

Arlene Coley-Past President

Steve and I will soon celebrate our 40^th anniversary (He robbed the cradle) ….WOW…….I still loves the man! We have a daughter, Christie, and a Yorkie, Jeter, the two loves of our lives.

We started shagging when Christie went to Chapel Hill in 1995 and haven’t stopped.

We love the beach, the sun, fine food, strong drinks, good times, good friends, to shag, and we love our shag family……..SBSC.
